Anderlecht have pulled the plug on their Women’s Football Team

At the beginning of May the women’s team of Anderlecht became Belgian champion for the first time in 20 years. The UEFA Women’s Champions League waited, but sadly it will never come. Marc Coucke pulls the plug from the women’s team for budgetary reasons. The president of Anderlecht says that nothing has officially been decided, but the players already received the message. “No respect for women at all”, Anderlecht player and Red Flame Aline Zeler is furious.

Anderlecht’s women’s team will have a victory tomorrow afternoon in the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium after their title. Honestly, it does not interest the girls anymore. On Tuesday-evening, the players were told that Anderlecht will stop with women’s football. The intention was to make it public only on Friday 11th May 2018, but the news has now been leaked.
