English FA WSL 1 club Notts County Ladies have folded

Notts County Ladies have folded just days before the start of the English FA WSL 1 Spring Series.

The top-flight English women’s football club, previously known as Lincoln Ladies before they were relocated in 2014, were due to face Arsenal Ladies in their opening FAWSL 1 Spring Series campaign this weekend.

Willie Kirk Commits Future To City Women

Head coach Willie Kirk agrees new contract with Bristol City Women ahead of the Spring Series.

Kirk joined City Women in July 2015 and helped the club back to FA WSL 1 at the first time of asking last season.

Previously, Kirk had been working at the Scottish Football association as High Performance Manager after spending five years with Hibernian.

Danielle van de Donk wins SSE Women’s FA Cup Player of the fifth round

Midfielder Danielle van de Donk insists Arsenal will approach the forthcoming FA WSL Spring Series high on confidence despite their SSE Women’s FA Cup defence coming to an end.

The Gunners saw their hopes of another trip to Wembley extinguished on Sunday as Marisa Ewers’ goal proved the difference in their quarter-final clash with Birmingham City.

Everton defender Danielle Turner handed FA Cup Player of the Round award after heroics in goal

After producing the most unlikely of goalkeeping heroics in the fourth round of the SSE Women’s FA Cup, Everton Ladies defender Danielle Turner has landed the top gong.

Defender Turner is celebrating being crowned the SSE Player of the Round for the fourth stage, after her unlikeliest of stints in goal helped the Toffees beat Durham Women on penalties.

Turner, 25, was the unlikely hero after stepping up to the plate when regular Everton goalkeeper Kirstie Levell picked up a knock towards the end of the first half. Read the rest of this entry →

One game into Everton Ladies’ season and Claudia Walker already has a hat-trick to her name and some new silverware on her mantelpiece.

But after being crowned the SSE Women’s FA Cup player of the third round, the attacker admits she has her sights set on even more silverware come the end of the campaign.

Hayley Ladd agrees new deal with Bristol City Women ahead of Spring Series

Wales international and City Women Captain joined the club in 2015 where she has quickly become a favourite with the fans and her fellow teammates.

The 23-year-old midfielder played at Arsenal and Coventry City before making the move to Bristol.

Internationally, Ladd along with teammates Georgia Evans, Loren Dykes and Amina Vine have been selected for the Cyprus Women’s Cup for Wales at the end of this month as well as boasting more than 25 senior caps to her name. Read the rest of this entry →
