Everton defender Danielle Turner handed FA Cup Player of the Round award after heroics in goal

After producing the most unlikely of goalkeeping heroics in the fourth round of the SSE Women’s FA Cup, Everton Ladies defender Danielle Turner has landed the top gong.

Defender Turner is celebrating being crowned the SSE Player of the Round for the fourth stage, after her unlikeliest of stints in goal helped the Toffees beat Durham Women on penalties.

Turner, 25, was the unlikely hero after stepping up to the plate when regular Everton goalkeeper Kirstie Levell picked up a knock towards the end of the first half. Read the rest of this entry →

One game into Everton Ladies’ season and Claudia Walker already has a hat-trick to her name and some new silverware on her mantelpiece.

But after being crowned the SSE Women’s FA Cup player of the third round, the attacker admits she has her sights set on even more silverware come the end of the campaign.

Hayley Ladd agrees new deal with Bristol City Women ahead of Spring Series

Wales international and City Women Captain joined the club in 2015 where she has quickly become a favourite with the fans and her fellow teammates.

The 23-year-old midfielder played at Arsenal and Coventry City before making the move to Bristol.

Bristol City Women duo Thierry-Jo Gauvain and Amina Vine selected for Wales U17 Camp

Thierry-Jo Gauvain and Amina Vine have been named in the Wales U17 training camp squad.

The youngsters will meet up with the rest of the squad on Monday, February 13th for the four-day camp, which will also include two international friendly fixtures against Hungary in Cardiff.

The first fixture is on Tuesday, February 14th at Merthyr FC (KO 3pm) followed by a day of training before facing Hungary again at the same venue on Thursday, February 16th (KO 11pm).

Vixens Secure Arthur Ahead Of Spring Series

City Women are pleased to announce 21-year-old Midfielder Chloe Arthur will remain at the club ahead of the FA WSL Spring Series.

Chloe joined the Vixens last January after spending a successful season with Scottish Cup and League runner up team, Hibernian Ladies. Prior to this Chloe was part of the Celtic Youth Academy and broke into the Celtic first team aged 17.

Watford FC Ladies announce appointment of new Head Coach Keith Boanas

The FA Women’s Super League 2 club Watford FC Ladies have confirmed the appointment of new Head Coach Keith Boanas.

Keith Boanas is a UEFA Pro Licence holder who brings a wealth of coaching experience at club and international level, most notably Charlton Athletic WFC and eight years as Women’s National Team Manager & Technical Director for the Estonian FA.

Watford FC Ladies will play at Kings Langley FC on Sunday February 26, with a 2pm kick-off scheduled for the visit of London Bees, as part of a ‘Spring Series’ half-year season that will see the women’s game return to a winter fixture cycle from Autumn 2017.

Watford conceded last weekend’s SSE Women’s FA Cup tie to Doncaster Rovers Belles in order to ensure necessary preparations ahead of the start of the league fixture programme.

Frankie Brown pens new deal with the Vixens ahead of Spring Series.

Twenty-nine year-old Brown joined, the then named, Bristol Academy from Hibernian Ladies having spent eight years with the club.

A Scottish international, with more than 70 caps, made her first start in the UEFA Women’s Euro 2009 play-off match against Russia at Tynecastle.

Brown also has experience in the UEFA Champion’s League with five appearances for her previous club Hibernian.
