Dolores Silva’s second-half penalty separated the two sides as the hosts claimed victory ahead of the second friendly on Sunday, January 21st.

Reports that Phil Neville to have talks with The FA over England WNT manager job

Sky Sports has reported that Phil Neville is set for talks with the FA over the England women’s national team head coach job.

It is revealed on the Sky Sports website that the former England, Manchester United and Everton defender, Phil Neville is being considered the early favourite to succeed Mark Sampson, although no decision has yet been reached.

USA Women’s National Team midfielder Morgan Brian will not attend the USA’s January training camp in Los Angeles, and instead will stay in France with her club Olympique Lyonnais as she works to return to fitness from nagging injuries that impacted her play in 2017.

The European Champions will be in La Manga from 15 to 24 January and will play an official international friendly match against Spain on Saturday 20 January 2018 at 19:00.

France squad announced for international friendly match against Italy

France women’s national team head coach Corinne Diacre has announced her squad to face Italy in an international friendly match later this month.

The two European nations, France (ranked 6 in the world) and Italy (ranked 17) will go head to head on Saturday 20 January 2018 at 21:00 local time at the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille.
