Match report: Netherlands on verge of qualifying from Group after 1-0 victory over Denmark.

Host nation Netherlands are on the verge of qualifying from Group A in the Uefa Women’s Euro 2017 championships after a 1-0 victory over Denmark put them on six points from two matches.

It was the Dutch who started the brighter as Sherida Spitse low shot was well saved by Stina Petersen.

Sweden came out on top against Russia on Friday evening with a 2-0 victory.

Match report: Italy knocked out of Euro 2017

Italy’s Euro 2017 campaign came to an end on Friday night as they crashed out after losing 2-1 to reigning champions Germany.

It was the current holders who got off to the brighter start as Dzsenifer Marozsán crossed for Babett Peter but she could only direct header wide.

Valentina Cernoia then nearly put Italy ahead on 5 minutes as her stinging effort was well kept out by German keeper Almuth Schult. Match report: NC Courage Down Boston Breakers to Remain in First

The NC Courage (7W-3L-0T, 21 pts.) earned a confident 3-1 win over the Boston Breakers (2W-5-L-2T, 8 pts.) on Pride Night at Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park.

Two early goals from Kristen Hamilton followed by a tally by Ashley Hatch gave the NC Courage a solid lead going in to halftime, and the Breakers were unable to answer the Courage’s quick start.

The NC Courage began the game with a lot of intensity, eager to pick things up where they left off before the international break. Canada Women’s National Team provided the hometown crowd much to cheer about in an impressive 6:0 win over Costa Rica in Toronto. Deanne Rose, Janine Beckie (three), and Jordyn Huitema (two) were the goalscorers in front of the Sunday afternoon crowd of 20,628 at BMO Field.

“That’s nine goals over two games, so we are really happy,” said John Herdman, Head Coach of the Women’s National Team.”We also had a clean sheet, so those are all the things that you look for as a coach through a game, he added. “We put in a structure in the last four years to ensure that the right players are coming through at the right times. A pair of draws versus Fort Wayne United and Indy Eleven keep Detroit Sun FC undefeated at 3-0-2.

An important two-match weekend for the Detroit Sun FC kicked off on Friday, June 9 when the travelled to Hoosier country where they took on Fort Wayne United at Indiana Tech Stadium.

A rainy first half ended scoreless, only for a back and forth second half to produce four goals. The Sun dominated the first half with 12 shots on goal, compared to the Gryphons one. The scoring opened up in the 66’ minute when Hannah Tillett slipped between the DSFC’s center backs putting the ball away 1v1 with the goal keeper. The Fort Wayne United lead lasted seven minutes, until Dani Evans (Rochester, Mich./ Oakland University) picked up the ball 30 yards out and unleashed a left footed shot just inside the far post to tie up the match. USA Now Travels to Sandefjord to Face Norway in an international friendly on June 11 (1 p.m. ET; FOX)

USA Women’s National Team opened its two-game European tour with a 1-0 shutout against Sweden at Gamla Ullevi Stadium as 22-year-old midfielder Rose Lavelle scored the lone goal of the match in the 56th minute.
