Leanne Ross has lifted the SSE Scottish Women’s Cup six times with Glasgow City – now she wants it back again.

The City skipper curled in a free-kick and laid on the second for Abbi Grant as the eight-time champions cruised past Forfar Farmington 3-0 in the second round.

Ross – a stalwart of the game north of the border as the holder of 133 Scotland caps – is desperate to regain a trophy they last won in 2015.

“The SSE Scottish Women’s Cup is really important for us, to try to and get our hands back on that silverware,” said the 36-year-old, beaten finalist in 2016 and 2017 at the hands of Hibernian.

Olivier Echouafni named new Paris Saint-Germain Women’s coach

Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce that Olivier Echouafni has been appointed head coach of the women’s professional side. The former France women’s national team coach has signed a two-year contract and is now tied to the club to 30 June 2020.

The 45-year-old former midfielder began his coaching career in 2013, with Amiens, before spells with FC Sochaux and Les Bleues, who he led to Euro 2017 in the Netherlands.Olivier Echouafni will be assisted by Bernard Mendy, the former Rouge et Bleu defender (2000-2008), who was on the bench for the club’s recent Coupe de France triumph over Olympique Lyonnais. Pre-season training will begin on 16 July, five days before the squad heads to the USA where the team will play in the inaugural women’s edition of the International Champions Cup on 21 and 29 July.
