The Republic of Ireland Women’s Under 19 team completed their 3 Nations Tournament campaign with a 1-0 win against Hungary in Lindabrunn, Austria.

Saoirse Noonan’s 87th minute winner from a well worked set piece gave Ireland the win against a tough Hungarian outfit. The goal came as a clever free kick from Alex Kavanagh was dinked over the wall to send Noonan through on goal. The official emblem and slogan for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 was revealed today in Paris.

USWNT to Finish Two-Game Set vs. New Zealand in Cincinnati

USA has played 11 matches so far in 2017 and will play five more during the fall – one more in September, and two more in both October and November.

The USA played its first fall friendly on Sept. 15 against New Zealand at Dick’s Sports Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. and came away with a 3-1 victory as Julie Ertz scored two first half goals while Alex Morgan added a late clincher.

The teams will run it back on Sept. 19 (7:30 p.m. ET; FS1) at Nippert Stadium on the campus of the University of Cincinnati. The crowd for the game may approach 30,000 fans. The 16 games the USA will play this year will tie for the second-most the U.S. WNT has played in a calendar year after the World Cup-Olympic cycle. Read the rest of this entry →

UCD Waves lift Continental Tyres WNL Shield after Galway victory

UCD Waves claimed the Continental Tyres Women’s National League Shield after an entertaining final at Eamonn Decay Park against Galway WFC.

Ellie O’Flaherty put the home ahead but goals from Catherine Cronin and Kerri Letmon sealed the come-back 2-1 victory for Noel Kealy’s side.
