Costa Rica 0 – 3 USA
Tobin Heath 16’ (USA)
Carli Lloyd 72’ (USA)
Alex Morgan 88’ (USA)
The United States earned its fifth straight trip to the Olympics, beating Costa Rica 3-0 Friday night in the semifinals of CONCACAF women's qualifying.
Goals by Tobin Heath, Carli Lloyd and Alex Morgan provided the smallest margin of victory for the United States in the tournament, having won three previous games by a combined 31-0.
"I always say I respect the game and the opposition and this is the proof," U.S. coach Pia Sundhage said. "You can't take anything for granted. We score a lot of goals, but Costa Rica, they came out and played well, played hard.
"Eventually, we had three goals. Despite the first goal fell in quickly, we struggled a little bit. It became an emotional game more so than a tactical one."
The three-time and defending Olympic champion Americans earned the first of two berths from CONCACAF, with Canada claiming the other later Friday with a 3-1 win over Mexico.

Canada will join the United States at the Olympics, beating Mexico 3-1 on Friday to claim CONCACAF's second and last berth in the London Games.
Christine Sinclair and Melissa Tancredi gave Canada a two-goal lead by the 23rd minute and the defense withstood a Mexican surge midway through the second half to win for the 17th time in 19 meetings - with one draw - against the Latins.
Sinclair added a second in the 76th to quell the Mexican rally and assure Canada's win. The United States beat Costa Rica 3-0 earlier Friday, setting up a Sunday final in CONCACAF Olympic women's qualifying.
"Mission accomplished. I'm proud of the girls tonight," Canada coach John Herdman said. "It's one of them performances. It's a cup final. Anything's going to go. The rules change.
"It's do or die. You them girls play some fantastic stuff. It's pretty exciting."
