The competition, to be played entirely at Vancouver's newly renovated BC Place Stadium, will take place January 19-29. The top two teams qualify for the 2012 Women's Olympic Football Tournament.

The draw will split eight finalists into two, four-team groups. The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals, with the eventual finalists each earning tickets to London. A match schedule will be released at a later date.

The United States has won the last two CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying tournaments, defeating Mexico 3-2 in the final of the 2004 competition and then Canada (6-5 on penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw) in the 2008 championship match.
