@Melly, I hear you. Everyone in Canada should know who Christine Sinclair is but so sad to say not many people do!  What a shame.

Lol, I know exactly how you feel :):)

My brother was the same, and it was always fun when we challenged people at the park to a match and they would always underestimated us because there was a girl playing! Big mistake for them ;)

Have a great day too :):):)

Thanks for your comment litte Miss Soccer, l'm just having one of those days..lol. I was lucky enough to have a brother six years older then me that got me into pitching overhand at age 5, he just treated me like a person not a gender! I just remember always and always having too prove myself when l was just as good if not better then some of those boys...and they hated it! lol....ahh the good ole days...have a great day...its Friday;}

@Melly I completely understand your frustration, although we should be used to the comments by now as I am sure we have all had experience it never gets easier to hear!! In fact it is more frustrating as it does feel like times haven't changed. (Recent sexist remarks in England). I remember the same views when I had to play football with the boys for the school team because there was no girls team!

I really am not sure why these negative views are towards women in sport??? We just have to try and ignore the negativity and keep fighting for what we love and believe in. Women's football is definitely developing around the World and there is no reason why we can't continue to grow.

I need to vent....i go on sportsnet and cbcsports to get updated and scores a lot. I have been seeing so much negative comments about the Women's World Cup. It just ticks me off to no end, of course l do fire back but at the end of the day l get nowhere! I feel like when l was 7 playing hockey with the boys because their was no girls team then. The looks l got from other parents and the disrespect from some coaches. I was hoping we have come further since those days. It just seems their is still several negative people out there calling the WWC because it's televised a waste? I just don't get it. Don't these people have daughters in sports, or support for your Country? I realize it's not like this everywhere around the world but l was hoping for more positive comments from people in my country. How are Womens soccer athletes respected in other countries...just curious because l'm from a very pro-hockey country.
