FIFA have unveiled the official emblem and tournament ambassadors for this years U-20 Women's World Cup in Japan.

Nadeshiko Japan team members Aya Miyama and Homare Sawa have been appointed as the tournament ambassadors.

FIFA.com says:

"The Official Emblem depicts a paper crane symbolising Japanese tradition and hope, the youthfulness of the women participating in the tournament (pink), the bright summer sun during August when the competition will take place (yellow), the lustrous green pitch, and last but not least, the endless blue sky inviting all participants to open their wings and fly out to the world.

Finally, the pink heart that appears in the year number expresses gratitude for the continuous support that Japan has received from FIFA and the football family across the world since the March 2011 earthquake."

An attractive poster (though I am not sure I would have spotted the crane made in origami).  Nevertheless, I wish that FIFA and UEFA would use "Ladies" instead of "Women". Also, maybe, it should clearly state on the poster that the sport is football.
