Both Mexico and Switzerland are looking for their first points at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup when they meet on Wednesday 22nd August 2012 in Miyagi.
A loss for either one of these teams would mean their tournament dreams would be over, should the other group A match end in a draw.

A do or go-home match for either team. Could be most entertaining if well refereed. The Swiss might be slight favourites. A draw is unlikely to help either team.

"In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switerzland they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace, and what did they produce? The cuckoo clock."
Orson Welles (in the role of Harry Lime) in Carol Reid's "The Third Man" (screenplay by Graham Green).
I guess it is unlikely that we will see a match between Italian and Swiss lasses in this tournament the way the tables look before this day´s matches.

Suits Japan; suits NZ. A Mexican win would be even better for Japan, probably.

Permalink Reply by Gromit on August 22, 2012 at 9:52 Thanks Gina, but don't worry, it's not very urgent or important and it will pop up at some time anyway :o)
Permalink Reply by Women's Soccer United on August 22, 2012 at 9:58 I have a suspicion that Mexico took the youngest squad to last year's world cup in Germany... it could be memory playing tricks though lol
