Fantastic @A-Hamm - I will see if there is a link to watch...

Wait, that tweet was from yesterday, so it is being unveiled today! It is on TSN, Christine Sinclair and John Herdman will be there. Can we watch TSN online?

Just saw on Twitter that the logo for the 2015 WWC will be revealed tomorrow at BC Place in Vancouver. 11am PT/2pm ET. Hope Canada comes up with something creative!

Guess this means its likely BC Place will host the final?

If we pick the participant nations based on the current (November, 2012) FIFA ranking, the 24 will be like this:

Host Nation: Canada (FIFA rank #7)

AFC: Japan (#3), Australia (#9), South Korea (#15), China (#19), Thailand (#30), followed by Vietnam (#31), Uzbekistan (#41), Taiwan (#43).

CAF: Nigeria (#27), Cameroon (#50), Ghana (#51), followed by South Africa (#56), Equatorial Guinea (#62).

CONCACAF: USA (#1), Mexico (#24), Costa Rica (#40), followed by Guatemala (#77), Dominican Rep. (#88).

CONMEBOL: Brazil (#4), Colombia (#28), followed by Argentina (#33), Chile (#45), Trinidad Tobago (#48).

OFC: New Zealand (#21), followed by Papua New Guinea (#49)

UEFA: Germany (#2), France (#5), Sweden (#6), England (#8), Italy (#9), Denmark (#12), Norway (#13), Netherlands (#14), followed by Iceland (#16), Spain (#17), Finland (#18), Russia (#20).

Even if Europe is expanded to 8 seats, it is still far less represented for its football level. Russia (#20) has very slim chance to be qualified while Colombia (#28), Thailand (#30), Costa Rica (#40), Ghana (#51) have much higher hope....

Yes, Netherlands very likely. Spain, Italy, Denmark, Russia, Iceland and (I hope) Scotland will be serious contenders too.

Netherlands could also qualify for this World Cup

Comment by Juan Manuel Cores Orge on November 9, 2012 at 10:59

Well, Spain could be an option, they qualified to the Eurocup in 2013 since a long time ago, but sincerely I don't see crazy results like in U-17, in senior is difficult to get them

To be honest, I'm afraid FIFA has increased the participants too much. 3.5 from CONCACAF, which means 3 or 4 from North and Central America, but this is in addition to the host Canada. When I saw the Olympic qualifiers in January, the top 3 (USA, Canada, Mexico) and the rest belonged to different dimensions. We, again, will see "Gambia" and "Azerbaijan" as we saw at U17WWC. I know there is an argument it is OK.

5 from AFC.... With North Korea expelled this time, Japan, Australia, South Korea, China will be there unless something drastic happens. The 5th seat could be open to several countries.

8 from Europe. Germany, France, Sweden, England and Norway are the natural favorites. Who will be the other three? How about Spain? Back in February, Barcelona Ladies tied with INAC Kobe, 1-1.

I hope Christine Sinclair finally gets to lead Canada to victory. I also hope Carli Lloyd and Hope Solo will get special moments for USA.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Pinoe to play a fantastic World Cup 2015. Just like she did in 2011 in Germany. Still love that woman.
