Comment by Renegades Of Girls Soccer on May 17, 2011 at 3:24 The Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) held its annual general meeting over the weekend and introduced part 2 of its Long-Term Player Development plan. Jason de Vos outlines and provides the enter remnants of the meeting.
Jason de Vos is a former professional soccer player he brings more than 18 years of experience on the pitch to his analyst role on CBC's Major League Soccer and FIFA telecasts.
His Headline started quite interesting then went on to set the mood... that end with a breath of optimism.
The mood amongst those who want change in Canadian soccer went from quiet confidence in the week leading up to the AGM, to outright despair on Friday evening. Rumour got out that the usual shenanigans were at play, and political favours were being traded for votes in order to maintain the status quo on the Executive Committee and recycle the same folks who have been in power for years.

Great information about your club Garston Ladies FC. I am pleased to hear it is going from strength to strength. It sounds like a great club to be involved in. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for starting this group. You asked us to tell you about our clubs so here goes!
Garston Ladies FC is a Charter Standard football club for girls and women based in south west Hertfordshire, near Watford. This season we have been running two senior and eight junior teams. With more than 150 registered players we are one of the biggest women's clubs in the county.
Our junior teams play in the Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League with the exception of the Under 15s who play in the Home Counties Girls League.
The past few seasons have seen the club go from strength to strength. Last year our Under 13s won the treble (league, league cup and county cup), while our Under 12 'A' team (known as The Mets) won the league and the county cup, narrowly missing out on the treble when they lost in the league cup final.
This season looks like being every bit as good - if not better. The Mets (now the Under 13 Mets) clinched the league title at the weekend and won the county cup back in March - with the league cup final coming up in May, hopes of the treble are very much alive.
And our Under 10s have matched The Mets all the way. With the league title already under their belts, the girls have two cup finals to look forward to in May.
Our Under 12s are top of their league - but need to hope that their nearest rivals stumble in their final fixture if they're to become the third Garston Ladies side to be crowned league champions for 2010-2011.
Our other Under 13 team (The Diamonds) have also had a great season, briefly topping the league a few weeks ago - their slim chances of ending up on top were snuffed out at the weekend when they lost to the league leaders.
The Under 11s have had a mixed season: league leaders at Christmas, injuries to key players have seen their form slump in the past few months.
The Under 15s have had a tough season but the girls remain optimistic about the next campaign.
Our two youngest teams, the Under 8s and Under 9s have had a fantastic season playing non-competitive fixtures and impressing everyone with their ability and skill. The future of Garston Ladies FC is safe in their hands!
We're a friendly club with a reputation for good sportsmanship and we welcome all girls aged 6 upwards. The club is based at the Metropolitan Police Sports Club in Aldenham Road, Bushey where we play our home games on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and hold training sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
