Caroline Seger steps down as captain for Sweden's international friendly against Norway in La Manga 2012

Sweden will face Norway today with a new starting formation of 4-2-3-1 and without Caroline Seger leading the side.

 

Charlotte Rohlin and Nilla Fischer will share the captain's role in the Swedish women's national team.

 

Swedish coach Thomas Dennerby will be trying an alternative to the basic 4-4-2 formation by playing with 4-2-3-1 against Norway today. Dennerby is looking for a permanent alternative arrangement.

 

Caroline Seger has asked to step down as the Swedish national team captain for this season. She told svenskfotboll.se "It is completely my own decision. I feel that I simply want to focus more on the actual football. There is nothing strange.It's a new year and everything feels good"
