Canada and South Africa are both fighting for their first points of the tournament when they meet on Saturday 28th July 2012 in Coventry. (14:45 local time).
Despite the South African's 4-1 defeat against Sweden in their opening game, it was their one goal by Portia Modise that made the headlines. A stunning long range lob which left Lindahl hopelessly back-peddling soared straight into the net.
Canada suffered a 2-1 defeat against the world champions Japan in their opening group F fixture.

This is a must win match for either team. Canada were lucky in not losing 0-3 and instead getting away with 1-2. RSA were also fortunate because they could have been 0-7 and even 0-8 down by 15-20 min. Instead they got away with 1-4.
More important, by scoring tons of goals, the winning team could still get a lucky loser spot. Should Canada win and then scalp the Swedes, the world would be their oyster.
Go, RSA, go go go!

But I'm afraid Canada wins... 3-1.
Permalink Reply by Lutendo Morris on July 27, 2012 at 21:33 RSA will have to win this one, its our only chance before we face Japan and I think that the Coach had learned a lot from the first game and he is going to make show that they are well organized at the back, because the off-side trap technic was not working at all against Sweden.
