Wow! After seeing all the great things coming up, I am relieved! This is an amazing community. I feel so fortunate to have found it.

Absolutely, only 3 days after the Olympics is over, the new UEFA Women's Champions League new competition starts, then the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup (19th August) and the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup (September) plus loads of league action, we would love you to stay with us during all the action. We will definitely be covering the World Cup in Canada, including all the qualifications for the tournament.

I guess I need to update my predictions, since dear Lotta is no longer a factor. I'm sticking with USA for the Gold, Japan for the Silver, and as much as I'd like to see our neighbors to the north and Ms.Sinclair earn a medal, I think France will take the Bronze. Of course, all that could easily change tomorrow! And before the week is over, Women's Football will also be over. I will miss all of you and your shared experience and wisdom. Perhaps all the folks on WSU could converge in Canada for the next World Cup in 2015. That would be great fun!

My head is saying that USA will win the tournament, but as France are still in the competition and they are still in with a shout I will stick with my original prediction. I don't think it is too unlikely that France could do it, it will be a USA v France final, France know they can score against USA and they should have learnt something from that group game that will help them in the final if they were to meet.

You still think that France will win the tournament ?

Women's Soccer United said:

I will change my bronze (Brazil) to Japan. So I need France to beat Japan in the semi-finals and USA to beat Canada... Then Japan to beat Canada for bronze

Gromit said:

Same for me, I'll just have to change the Silver one. I'll put Canada since GB is out now.

My Best jersey colour to lose in QF prediction (yellow) was right !

And I still have 3 chances out of 4 to have the Best Jersey colour to win in Final (blue)...

Well my Gold an Silver prediction is still on, I failed with bronze lol

Thanks Elena :) We are pleased you found us.
We will find as many streams as we can of these upcoming matches too, so we can watch the action too

You're right Elena and it's another opportunity (there' ll never be enough) to thank WSU's A Team for what they are doing for Women's Football and the wonderful atmosphere reigning here amongst its members. A site/forum always reflects its owner/animator/team's beauty. :o)

Awww thank you :) We really appreciate your support, I really believe that together we can make the world take notice of all aspects of the game in all countries.

I can tell you I spare no efforts to convince people around me - beginning with my closest friends - that Women's Football is exciting and beautiful but most of them still look at me as if I was talking about E.T.s.

That's why I think that France's win is maybe more important than Japan's. To convert the try, in some way.

haha I know what you mean, yet how often do you hear "I didn't think they would be that good, I really enjoyed it" after they take time to watch the game.

I think it will be good for France to win gold, they have progressed a lot in women's football and it would be great for them to be rewarded, it will also be great for European women's football. I would also like Japan to bring home a medal (bronze) so that they continue to get awareness and support.

The best final would be Beavers - Pie-bleues.  Failing that one, maybe Japan - Beavers would be preferable to France - USA because Canada might actually beat Japan, that is it would also be a riveting final.

lol *blushes* :-P

The closest predictions to the final standings were from Matthew, Asa, A-Solo and Lutendo who all correctly predicted both Gold and Silver as USA and Japan.

No one had Canada as the bronze medal finish.

Christine Sinclair was the tournaments top goalscorer, which none of us got right! Though Amy and Emilios' guess of Abby Wambach was closest prediction as she was runner up top goalscorer.

Player of the tournament - As far as I know there has been no official award announced for that so we will have to discuss out our opinions here to who we think deserves this acknowledgement.

Congratulation to the winners ! :o)

I don't think there will be any official Best Player (in the same vein, there was no Best Player of the match, unlike at WC).
