Comment by Izzy on July 23, 2012 at 18:07 both was injured... But now both are good... I think Jorge is happy with team now... Thais and Bruna are doing a good job. But I think he will change the team again in the first matches...I am sad about Elaine, but Danielli will be great for the left side. I think she is better than Maurine playing in that side. Because Maurine used to play in Fabiana's place. But now Fabiana is the first choice in the right side.. I think Danielli is better than Maurine.
I think Bruna and Aline should continuous in defence. But I hope jorge took off Thais and put Cristiane...
Comment by Gromit on July 23, 2012 at 16:18 Yes, that is sad news and a hard blow for Brazil.
I've got a question for Izzy (or whoever knows the answer) : why neither Christiane nor Erika played at all at the two World Matches ? Are they injured ? They played all the matches at the German WC.
Comment by Women's Soccer United on July 23, 2012 at 13:56 Sad to hear Brazil's Elaine will miss the London 2012 women's football through injury, Danielli is replacement via FIFA

Comment by Lutendo Morris on July 13, 2012 at 20:04 @IZZY I think the Brasil football Organizations are the one that are neglecting or undermining Women's soccer, because they were supposed to set aside funds to develop and to manage women in football or sports in genenaral, instead of relying on sponsors, but lets hope that after the Olympics if your team can reach the finals and with the influence of the 2014 FIFA World cup, maybe they will begin to take Women's football more seriously.
Most Countries are still undermining women's football, all thanks to the Universities which are playing a vital role in uplifting women's soccer. And if you think that IZZY's story is worse, you are wrong,African countries are far behind in supporting women's football.,
Comment by Izzy on July 8, 2012 at 2:01 I hate our lack of preparation and support, but I have good feelings for this Olympic Games and I yet believe that we can go to the final and win.
I can't wait to it begins!
Comment by Izzy on July 8, 2012 at 2:01 well as a brazilian I can say that women's soccer is a small sport here...we have a lot of girls, that are potential players, but they don't develop and don't go far because here not exist space for women's soccer. I think is a miracle exist a brazilian player like Marta, although her success be a big part because of Umea, that discover her so young, before her give up. 99% of girls here start playing with boys and when these girls can't play with their anymore, because sometime men turn much more strong, these girls have to find female teams, that are few and amateurs. In Addition, the most of female teams dont have young categories, only senior.
I watched a interview with Daniela Alves, that was a excellent player and hurted playing in WPS (for St Louis).Wambach had ruptured her knee ligaments, that is a common thing to happen with a player during a match and generally they come back after surgery and phisioterapy. But she never came back. And why?
first, CBF don't give a shit for our female players and second, she hadn't structure and support for any side... so she needed survive and was tired for all neglect...conclusion now she is working in a butchery and we lost a young and brilliant player.

Comment by Jaz Benz on May 1, 2012 at 10:19 Guys it was such a drama with the visa card for me too! For the second game I go to, only category B seats were left cuz it took me all day to find someone with a visa card! Luckily my sister had one, but damn, what stress.
