Those stats are interesting, funny how the two very different styles were successful for both teams to progress to the final.

Shots statistics updated after the S-F.

One remark : it's obviously more and more difficult to shoot and to shoot on target with the tournament's progress, since the matches are tighter with better opponents.

Total number of shots :

France - 92
Usa - 84
Brazil - 74
GB - 57
Canada - 56
Japan - 55

Average number of shots per match :

Brazil : 18,5
France : 18,4
usa : 16,8
GB : 14,25
Canada : 11,2
Japan : 11

Total number of shots on target :

Usa - 36
France - 35
Canada - 31
Brazil - 28
GB - 27
Japan - 23

Average shots on target per match :

Usa - 7,2
France, Brazil - 7
GB - 6,75
Canada - 6,2
Japan - 4,6

Ratio shots/shots on target :

Canada - 55 %
GB - 47 %
Usa - 43 %
Japan - 42 %
France, Brazil - 38 %

@Lars - I've just finished to design a kit for the Swedes. Special "rainy Glasgow". I replaced the blue by a touch of red in order to push your country to behead your crowned king and queen. French touch :o)

If logic is respected, all 8 teams should wear their regular jerseys tomorrow. That's a good thing.

@Lars and Gromit--you guys have gone way off topic...but it's somewhat entertaining. lmao

Comment by Gromit on August 2, 2012 at 12:40

@Lars - Yes, to carry on with this infamous off-topic, Sjöström was a genius : Hingeborg Holm, Terje Vigen, Körkarlen (Bergman used to watch this film, his favourite, every year at the same date), The Scarlett Letter or this masterpiece The Wind with Lilian Gish and Lars Hanson again.

I can't find any Sjöström's film about football in my memory, so I can't come back to topic...
