In the first game of group B of 2010 Peace Queen Cup Suwon, Australia defeated Mexico 3:1 scored 2 in the first half and 1 in the second. So, they can expect a chance to get to the final.

They showed a strong will for the final, reiterating last 2 Peace Queen Cup, which they unfortunately missed the Cup. They attacked Mexico aggressively from the start of the game.

Australian team showed definitely how they could win an Asian Championship and number 11 in the world. Mexican team got puzzled, being attacked by Australians’ agility, dribble ability and sharply crossed pass.

The first goal started from a left foot of McCallum who is a proud free-kicker of Australia. She once had already missed a good chance to score by hitting a goal post. She, however, scored kicking left foot in-front-kick and became a heroine of the first goal.

After a goal, Australian team pressed Mexican team and Kathryn scored one more receiving McCallum’s cross from the corner at 29minute first half.

Mexico became active at the time of the second half, but Australian goal keeper never lost any. On the other hand, Sally Shipard made a goal at the distance of 25meters, 18minute, the second half, and it made Australia sure of their victory.

After that, Mexico scored one at 19minute it was fairly not enough to turn around the game. At last, Australia secured a victory in score of 3:1.

Australia, the winner of the game, can get to the final if a game against Taiwan would end in a draw at least. If so, the Matildas do get to the final finally after 3 trials.
