Leeds United Ladies is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Burgess as its new first-team manager.
Andy has previously worked with the club, assisting Rick Passmoor during the League Cup-winning season in 2009-2010 and is currently Head Coach at Pro Soccer Academy Liverpool, a football academy for 8-18 year olds which he founded.
"I'm pleased to be renewing my acquaintance with Leeds United Ladies, and working with a team which achieved such great results last season," he said. "I'm looking forward to building on that success, pushing forward this season and keeping the club at the top where it belongs."
"I'm delighted to have secured Andy's services during the summer break," said Leeds United Ladies Chairman, Steve Russell. "As well as having many years' experience in the women's game, he is a former professional player with over 500 league and non-league appearances to his name.
"I'm confident that he will be able to take the team even further forward this season after our successes in 2011-12."
The new season for Leeds United Ladies kicks off on Sunday 19 August with the visit of Cardiff City Ladies to Throstle Nest, Farsley AFC, followed a week later by the visit of Coventry City Ladies. Full fixture for the first teams and the new reserves side are on the club's web site at www.leedsunitedladies.com
