The game finished in controversial circumstances, when Grace McCatty kicked out at Katie Brusell as she lay on the floor, resulting in a straight red for the Bristol defender. Both sets of players and benches then got into an ugly confrontation, which led to Bristol Captain Corinne Yorston also receiving a red card. Katie was clearly seriously hurt, and required treatment from both physios before being stretchered from the pitch.
