Mercy Akide is convinced Africa will be represented at the Women's World Cup 2015 Semi-Finals

Nigerian women's football legend Mercy Akide is convinced Africa will be represented in the Women's World Cup 2015 Semi-Finals.

A legend in women's football, Mercy Akide has appeared in three FIFA women's World Cups and predicts an African side will be among the top four teams at the women's World Cup Canada 2015.

Mercy Akide was part of the recent celebration of African women's football (FIFA/CAF conference).

Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea both made a competitive impact at this year's women's World Cup in Germany, and with a fantastic semi-final appearance by Nigeria at last year's FIFA U-20 women's World Cup, Mercy Akide has predicted that an African side will be among the top four teams at the women's World Cup in Canada 2015.

To date no African side has been able to advance to the semi-finals of the women's World Cup tournament, despite the many gifted players.
