Sawa deserves it, although I prefer Abby :) Marta is already a winner (just saying) heheh!

To be honest I respect all 3 of them just as much as any other lady on the list. Every single one of them would make a worthy winner of this award! Marta has won the award many times already, I think a bit of change won't hurt...But that's just my personal opinion.

I personally would want Sawa-san to win. I admire the Nadeshiko for all they achieved this year...I honestly think Sawa-san deserves it. She might not be the best player but she did her best. She played an amazing season for club and NT.

well, for me Marta is the best female player in the world, and will be difficult born  some girl that could be better than her.....her only problem that she borned in a country where women's soccer and nothing are the same thing.... despite we have good players... but I know that is boring Marta always win...like will be boring Messi win this year again... for me Wambach is the best player in USA, but I dont think she is better than Sinclair or Schelin or Popps or Grings... so I hope this year Sawa win... despite she is not the best player, she was a warrior and the most effective player in WWC.

so... this year:

1 Sawa

2 Marta

3 Wambach

Marta will always be the best player and Abby Wambach is an inspiration & hope of women's soccer but Sawa deserves to win this time regarding to her recent form

For the last 4 years Marta won but this year she played ''well'' in the WPS, she scored her goals and thats all. My problem with Marta is that she is a world class player, but there are way more good players in the world that deserve to win this. And I think that this World Cup Marta wasnt on her best.

So who do I think will win this between Sawa and Wambach... Wambach is a great player, real goal scorer and perfect teamplayer. She has been for years and she deserve to win this BUT looking back at this year particullary(sp?) I think Sawa will win. I enjoyed watching her play this World Cup and she was playing amazing! A true captain for a country and team.

So I would say Sawa for the win, although I prefer Abby, but just as a fan of the USWNT.

Just want to add some reasons why Sawa should win... she has had a very successful season. Captain of the women's World Cup winning team, won the golden boot award and her team Inac Kobe won the Japanese league :)
