The Asahi Newspaper has exposed a surprising fact that Shinobu Ohno, who currently plays as a striker for INAC Kobe Leonessa and Japan's national team, is going to sign a two-year contract as a professional to join Olympique Lyonnais Féminine. She is a versatile player and can also operate in the attaching midfielder's position.
It is expected that she will become a certified player who is entitled to be financially aided by the Japan Football Association. Yūki Ōgimi (25, 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam), Kozue Ando (30, FCR 2001 Duisburg), Saki Kumagai (22, 1. FFC Frankfurt), and Rumi Utsugi (24, Montpellier HSC Féminines) are currently the certified players eligible for financial aid. It is reported that she will sign up with the French club for an annual salary of ¥10,000,000. She is scheduled to hold a press conference on December 28, Japan time.

For your information, right at this time, Rumi Utsugi and Ami Otaki (23, Olympique Lyonnais Féminine) belong to the teams of the Division 1 Féminine.
Shinobu Ohno (28, INAC Kobe Leonessa) is supposed to head to France early in the new year in order to undergo a medical checkup and subsequently sign a formal contract to join the two-time defending UEFA WCL champions Olympique Lyonnais Féminine. It has recently been rumored that she hopes to play overseas. She injured her right knee in the Empress Cup match against Waseda University, and her right knee has been sore from it.
Both club teams actually met each other at the mobcast cup 2012. In the mobcast cup final, held at NACK5 Stadium Omiya in Japan in November of 2012, Olympique Lyonnais Féminine narrowly beat INAC Kobe Leonessa 2-1 after extra time.
More detailed information about Ohno's move to Olympique Lyon will be posted in this article as it becomes available.

Comment by Sebastian Kanty on December 27, 2012 at 14:32 @wsu - i don't see why not...as she hasn't participated in this edition of wcl with any other team, she should be eligible to play...only thing that could stand in the way, is the rule that the men have about non-uefa players...the mens cl, have a rule that only so many non-uefa players may participate for the team...but don't know if this rule applies to the women too...but i doubt it..
Comment by Women's Soccer United on December 27, 2012 at 14:05 Like I used to say @WSU, the strongest and main point at OL is the depth of quality from the bench, each player can make the difference at any moment; as long as the team win I think they all might think that it doesn't really matter who begins first.
Another rumor says that Megan Rapinoe will play for Olympique Lyonnnais for the rest of the French Féminine D1 season (6 month) before going back to the New US Women Soccer League.
Comment by Women's Soccer United on December 27, 2012 at 10:43 Wow, great signing for Lyon. Do you think Ohno will fit in to the squad as a regular first team player?
Comment by Hiroshi Umezu on December 27, 2012 at 8:34 It's the least I can do to show my gratitude, @Asa.
Comment by Asa on December 27, 2012 at 8:31 Thank you for the update @Hiroshi
