Peter Gerhardsson announces Sweden squad to play South Africa in January 2018
Swedish women’s national team head coach, Peter Gerhardsson has already made his squad announcement for the international friendly match away to South Africa on 21 January 2018.
The newly appointed head coach, Gerhardsson has called up a 23-player squad to face South Africa. The Swedish head coach has led the team in three matches this fall, the most recent contest was against one of the top European nations and hosts of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, France, which ended in a goalless draw.
The camp in South Africa at the beginning of the year will help Sweden continue with their preparations for World Cup qualification. Sweden will also participate in the prestigious Algarve Cup at the end of February, in which they are drawn into Group 2 alongside Canada, China and Russia.
