I trust Pia but I would have brought Leroux and Rodriguez in earlier. LePeilbet wasn't at her best, but everyone is allowed a bad game every now and then. O'Hara, despite her bad pass which resulted in New Zealand's lone goal, did well (nice tackle). With Krieger gone the back line is a work in progress, but I'm confident they'll be ready when the Olympics roll around. Overall a decent game in my opinion. And it was nice seeing Ali Riley. She had a good game.

@wsu - feel the same about the ferns loosing like that in the end...don't know if the first us goal was a goal, but i guess a american referee is somewhat pro-american. the second goal was also somewhat questionable...not the goal in itself, but the timing of it all..3 min of stoppage time had already run out, and then this happened...

the us was the better team, but still their victory leaves one with a bitter after taste..i though that wambach was more of an hindrance then not.. i know that pia values her mentality and winner instinct, but this day she was clearly under performing...not counting the assist..

Yeah I felt sorry for NZ to lose the game right at the end like that. Yeah that is quite possible Leroux to start instead of Wambach in the future.

@ wsu, i see a lot of game with rapinoe on the bench for the start of the game, especially in the world cup and concacaf olympic ( against mexico, costa rica, brazil, france )

I see the game, but im not sure she has tested a new tactic ?! leroux had a good entry too, in another register that wambach, maybe his future successor

The result was logical, 2-1 and great reaction from usa, but new zealand panicked for nothing at the end of the match !!!!!

@kevin not sure why Rapinoe didn't start? Maybe Pia didn't think she would need her in this match or wanted to try out new tactics?

Sorry for language im french ...

Good job for rapinoe, i love this impact player, but she looses many pass, however, she has made the decision at the end of the game with a beautiful acceleration on the right of the pitch !

Why pia already not decided to make rapinoe a starter ?

Was a great game!!! So glad there was a stream from USSoccer!!

Rapinoe made a impact when she came on :) Morgan was consistently a threat, very impressed with her performance.
