Strictly speaking, the L. League, whose nickname is now the "Nadeshiko” League, was established as a professional sports association in 1989. Both of Vegalta Sendai Ladies and Tokiwagi Gakuen (High School) belong to the second division of the Nadeshiko League. The L. League has gone through many changes and currently has 10 teams in Division 1 and 12 teams in Division 2, and hopes to place them among the world's best.
