Earlier today it was reported that Jessica Landström was ready to sign for Swedish side Djurgårdens pending confirmation from 1.FFC Frankfurt.
This afternoon 1.FFC Frankfurt have confirmed the striker will be leaving the club after the season but they have refused to grant her an early contract termination.
The Swedish Damallsvenskan new season starts on 9th April 2012 and Landström requested an early release from her FFC Frankfurt contract to join Djurgårdens.

France Sub: Abily replaces Soubeyrand
I agree with you @Sebastian – It’s not fair to keep her just to sit her on the bench :/
kind of harsh not to let her go….her 25 minutes a game, has gone down to about 10 minutes, when she’s actually playing…frankfurt’s reasons for holding on to her seems to be that they have many games left in bundesliga, dfb cup and champions league, and that they haven’t many forwards besides her…i counted 6 besides landström. they also said something about “turning back time”, maybe the transfer window which closed with the end of march, aren’t really certain about this though, since the translation i got was as confusing as the original text.
but the fact remains, that a signed contract is just that…signed..
