Abby Wambach named 2014 CONCACAF Player of the Year
USWNT forward Abby Wambach has been named the 2014 CONCACAF Female Player of the Year.
This was the second-annual CONCACAF Awards. Last year, Abby Wambach finished second to USWNT teammate Alex Morgan in the Female Player of the Year category.
This year it was Abby Wambach who claimed the top women’s award ahead of Costa Rica’s Shirley Cruz.
CONCACAF FEMALE PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
Winner: Abby Wambach, Forward (Western New York Flash/USA & United States)
Second: Shirley Cruz, Midfielder (Paris Saint Germain/FRA & Costa Rica)
Third: Veronica Charlyn Corral (Merilappi United/FIN & Mexico)
