Ada Hegerberg wins Best Women’s Player in Europe Award for 2015/16
Olympique Lyonnais and Norway international Ada Hegerberg has tonight been voted the winner of the UEFA Best Women’s Player in Europe Award for 2015/16.
Hegerberg beat Amandine Henry and Dzsenifer Marozsán to claim the accolade.
The talented forward had a very successful season her achievements include winning the UEFA Women’s Champions League, French Women’s Division 1 and the French Cup with Lyon. Finishing the season as the highest goalscorer.
She also became the first woman in 20 years to be crowned Norway’s Gold Ball award for the country’s best footballer.
Hegerberg has become the first non-German winner of the award following Celia Šašić (2014/15), Nadine Kessler (2013/14) and Nadine Angerer (2012/13).
