Algarve Cup 2018 | Day Three, Group stage
Day three at the 2018 Algarve Cup and it’s the final round of group matches in Portugal.
Hosts Portugal have had a great tournament campaign so far, with a 2-1 comeback against China in their opening game and holding Australia to a goalless draw in their second – this has put them on 4 points the same as Australia at the top of group A. Just 1 point behind sits Norway ahead of China who are yet to earn a point.
Similarly in Group B, Korea Republic and Sweden lead on four points, with Canada close behind on three points, whilst Russia are bottom with no points. Korea Republic face a tough challenge in their final game of this round when they take on Canada.
The European Champions, Netherlands have had a dream tournament campaign so far in Group C with two wins from two including a 3-2 win against Denmark, a Euro 2017 Final rematch! Despite their opening game defeat in which they conceded six goals, Japan find themselves second in the table on three points. Denmark and Iceland both have one point heading into the final round of group matches with the Danish facing Nadeshiko Japan and Iceland taking on Netherlands.
