Bad news for VfL Wolfsburg and Germany Women’s National Team as goalkeeper Almuth Schult has fractured a metatarsal and has been ruled out for three months.
Almuth Schult will miss the UEFA Women’s Champions League (Round of 16) matches against Chelsea Ladies, the first leg takes place today at 20:00CET at Wheatsheaf Park, live on Eurosport.
The goalkeeper will also be unavailable to play in this month’s international friendly match, Germany v England (26 November (live on ARD)). Nadine Angerer and Europe’s women footballer of the year Celia Sasic will receive an official send off from the international team at this fixture.
The injury occurred on Saturday during the the German Cup second round tie against SGS Essen.
