Arsenal to take on Fiorentina in Champions League

WSL Champions Arsenal Women have been paired with Serie A runners-up Fiorentina on the last 32 of this seasons UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The Gunners are the only British team to have won the competition, in their historic quadruple winning season in 2007.

Joe Montemurro’s side have began their pre-season preparations with a 3-0 loss to Wolfsburg in Austria before going down 5-2 to Barcelona on Wednesday evening.

Arsenal who were unseeded, host the Italians in the first leg.

Manchester City have been paired with Swiss side Lugano.

Scottish champions Glasgow City face a trip to Russia to face Chertanovo, while qualifiers Hibernian will take on Czech side Slavia Prague

The tie of the round is undoubtedly last season’s runners up FC Barcelona being paired with Juventus.

Lyon who are the current holders and have won the last four Champions League tittles play Russian side Ryazan-VDV.

The first legs will take place on 11/12 September, with the return fixtures on 25/26 September.
