Arsenal duo Vivianne Miedema and Danielle Van De Donk have been nominated for the WSL Player of the Month award for October.

Miedema scored the only goal of Sundays game with Manchester City as she has 2 goals and 3 assists to her name as her Dutch teammate Van De Donk has 3 goals to her name.

Last months winner and former Arsenal forward Chloe Kelly now at Everton and the leagues current topscorer has also been nominated for the award alongside Kerys Harrop of Birmingham City and Manchester United’s Kirsty Hanson.

Joe Montemurro has been nominated for the WSL manager of the month alongside Chelsea’s Emma Hayes and Manchester United’s Casey Stoney.

Arsenal have picked up 3 points from their last two League games as they fell to their first defeat of the season at Chelsea before Sundays crucial victory over Manchester City.

Overall Montemurro has led his side to 3 wins out of 4 in October as the Gunners saw off Slavia Prague in the Champions League and Charlton in the Continental Cup.

Manchester United won both their games as they overcame the challenges from Tottenham Hotspur and Reading 3-0 and 2-0 respectively and won the Manchester Derby in the Continental Cup.

As for Hayes Chelsea they also picked up maximum points as they saw off Arsenal 2-1 coming from behind in the process as well as beating West Ham 3-1 on Sunday to go top of the table.
