Cho So-hyun and Jeon Gaeul scored a hat-trick each as the Korea Republic began their AFC Women’s Asian Cup campaign in a 12 – 0 win over Myanmar. Park Eun-sun scored twice while Ji SoYun , Kwon Hah-nul, Park Hee-young and Yeo Min-ji were also on target at Nhong That Stadium. The game was all but over by the break at half-time as the Korea Republic led by seven goals to nil and five more goals in the second half showed the difference in class between the two teams.

Four goals from China’s Yang Li gave the eight-time champions a comfortable 7 – 0 win over Thailand as their AFC Women’s Asian Cup campaign. Li Dongna and Li Ying had put China two goals up inside the first 10 minutes before Yang grabbed her second inside the first half, her third goal came on the 63rd minute before Xu Yanlu scored the sixth goal with 16 minutes remaining and in the 90+1′ minute Yang got her fourth goal of the game.
