Keith Boanas receives highest honour at Estonian FA Gala event
Experienced football coach Keith Boanas was awarded the EJL Gold Star for his work in developing the women’s and girls football and coach education.
Boanas, who has extensive coaching career spanning many levels, countries and continents, was awarded at the Estonian FA Gala event which was held on 27th November, on being presented the accolade Keith said he was “both humbled and honoured to receive their highest honour”.
On receiving the award from their president Aivar Pohlak, Boanas dedicated it to all of his staff and in particular his assistant and coach education colleague Katrin Kaarna.
The award ceremony, followed by the players and staff goodbye party where gifts were presented, was very emotional as those involved in Estonian football said thank you and farewell to a person who has worked tirelessly to develop women and girl’s game in their country, leaving them with a positive legacy in which to grow the game further.
Keith has recently returned back home to the UK after eight years in Estonia, he told us “I am happy to be home with my loving and supportive wife Pauline and closer to my family after what has been a tough at times but amazing experience and learning curve. Looking forward to a short rest but not too short I hope…”
We would like to wish Keith Boanas all the best for the future.
