The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has announced this week the launch of the country’s first domestic women’s soccer league, with government-owned bank Caixa Econômica Federal  as its main sponsor. Brazilian state-owned bank  has signed a deal with the CFB worth reportedly R$10 million (US$4.4 million) to fund the new women’s league.
The first edition of the women’s Campeonato Brasileiro will run from September 18 to December 4 and the first season will include Brazil’s top-20 ranked clubs.

Group 1: Duque de Caxias-RJ, Centro Olímpico-SP, América-SP, Francana-SP, Rio Preto-SP

Group 2: Ascoop-DF, Foz Cataratas-PR, Vasco da Gama-RJ, Kindermann-SC, São José-SP

Group 3: São Francisco-BA, Caucaia-CE, Mixto-MT, Botafogo-PB, Vitória-PE

Group 4: Iranduba-AM, Viana-MA, Pinheirense-PA, Tuna Luso-PA, Tiradentes-PI
