Charlton sign Northern Ireland International Ciara Watling
Charlton Athletic have signed Northern Ireland International Ciara Watling.
Watling who has over 20 caps to her name left Crystal Palace last month who she spent 4 seasons with and became a big hit with supporters.
Charlton however is familiar territory for the midfielder as she made 54 appearances for the club in her first stint in South East London and helped them lift the Premier League Southern Division title in 2010/11.
Watling links up with Northern Ireland team-mate Rachel Newborough at Riteesh Mishra’s side.
Speaking to the Addicks website Watling said “I’m really happy, excited and looking forward to the second half of the season. “First of all my target was to enjoy football which I’ve started to do straight away. Now my targets are to get into the team, help the team on and off the pitch, start winning some games and hopefully get some goals and assists along the way.”
She could be set for her debut this Sunday as they take on Blackburn Rovers in the FA Women’s Championship and could come up against another Northern Ireland International in Lauren Perry.
