Chelsea hosts women in sport The Game Changers

Chelsea Football Club today hosted the latest Leaders event at Stamford Bridge, dedicated to exploring the growth of women’s sport and the contribution of women working in sport around the world.

Chelsea Ladies manager Emma Hayes was one of a number of influential men and women who spoke at ‘Leaders Meet: The Game Changers’. Alongside professional golfer Carin Koch and Fran Miller, Head of Winning Behaviours at Team Sky, Hayes discussed some of the key factors behind achieving peak performance in sport, using the changes she has overseen since joining Chelsea in 2012, both in personnel and in mindset, as an example.

Other speakers at the event held in the West Stand included Judy Murray, the British Fed Cup team captain, Heather Rabbatts, a non-executive director of the FA, and Lizzie Yarnold, a gold medal winner at the Winter Olympics last year.

For the past seven years Stamford Bridge has been the venue for the annual Leaders in Football Conference, and today’s event was inspired by our Chairman Bruce Buck. The session ended with a networking event where speakers and guests alike could discuss the day’s talking points.
