Canadian international Chelsea Stewart has signed for Japanese club INAC Kobe Leonessa of the Nadeshiko League.
Chelsea joins the top club in Japan from USA National Women’s Soccer League club, Boston Breakers. INAC Kobe have reported that Chelsea Stewart will take on the role of defender in their squad.
Stewart is an experienced international, her achievements include winning bronze with the Canada Women’s Soccer Team at the London 2012 Olympics.
Japan are attracting a lot of top international players, many of whom are attracted by the Japanese style of play and to gain a variety of experience.
INAC Kobe Leonessa are highly regarded as one of the most successful clubs in Japan. In their last league meeting they beat Albirex Niigata 3-2 and currently fourth in their league behind NTV:

This is the second international signing to Japan in two days. Yesterday we reported that USA international defender Rachel Van Hollebeke (Buehler) had made the move to Iga Kunoichi.
The contract period is for October 1, 2014 – January 15, 2015, reported by INAC Kobe official website.
