Claire Emslie joins Manchester City Women from Bristol City

Claire Emslie to depart The Vixens for Manchester City Women

Bristol City Women can confirm today that Claire Emslie has left the club and will join Manchester City Women for the upcoming FA WSL 1 season.

Emslie, 23, joined the Vixens in June 2016 from Florida Atlantic University.

Bristol City Women Manager Willie Kirk says he is disappointed to lose one of his key players, but is delighted for Emslie.

“We never want to lose our best players, but having known and worked with Claire for so long I’m delighted for her on a personal note,” he added.
“Her move shows every current and future Bristol City Women player, if they work hard day in and day out like Claire has, then this club can give you the platform for a move to a top three club. Everyone at the club would like to wish Claire the best for the future.”

So disappointed for Bristol City to lose Claire Emslie, one of the best players they had. But having said that Claire will provide Manchester City with an attacking the defence, no fear player, and I have not doubt that Manchester City will win the league because of this. Although one player does not win a title, providing Claire plays the games she will be a major part of this team. Best of luck Claire.
