COSAFA/Women’s Championship
From July 2nd to 9th, in Harare, Zimbabwe will take place the COSAFA women’s championship. The draw carried out on Friday gave in Pool A, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Malawi and Mozambique. In Group B, there is South Africa, defending champion, Botswana, Tanzania, invited although not part of the area, and Zambia.
The tournament will take place on two sites, located in the capital: the Rufaro and Gwanzura stadia. The opening match will be South Africa against Zambia in Rufaro on July 2nd. Zimbabwe will afterwards play against Mozambique. The first two of each group will play the semi-finals, July 7th, at the Rufaro stadium. The final and the match classification will take place forty-eight hours later.
Note that the 2011 edition is the fourth since 2002. South Africa won the three previous, in 2002 against Zimbabwe; in Harare, in 2006 against Zambia; in Windhoek, and in 2008 once more against Zimbabwe; in Malange, in Angola
