Jemma Rose replaces injured Claire Rafferty
Can’t understand why the friendly match against Germany is only three days before a vital world cup qualifier. What if key players get injured in the friendly?
That’s a good question. It could be that due to the lack of competitive football for the English squad, due to the end of season, they think it would be good preparation and given the opposition (with no disrespect), they may feel they have a large enough squad to cope with any unforeseen injuries.
I think France did the same recently, they played Brazil in an international friendly match and then three days later they played Romania in a Euro 2017 qualifier.
