England have added another strong opponent to their pre UEFA Euro 2013 tournament warm up matches, they will meet Canada in Rotherham on Sunday, 7th April 2013.

This follows the previous announcement that the England Women’s National Team will play the World Champions Nadeshiko Japan on Wednesday 26th June 2013.

England Women’s National Team manager Hope Powell, was knocked out of the London 2012 Olympics (as Team GB Head coach) after failing to beat the Canadians in the quarter-finals. Many players of the Team GB squad are regular England internationals and the rematch against Canada could be payback against a strong side.

There is a chance that England and Canada could meet before April, as both teams are heading to the Cyprus Women’s Cup in March and they may meet each other in the placement matches phase.
