England have now withdrawn their bid to host the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup – http://www.womenssoccerunited.com/english-fa-withdrawn-bid-host-2019-fifa-womens-world-cup/

These are all great countries to host the women’s World Cup… Being biased, I would love for England to be awarded the tournament. As you mentioned A-Hamm, the huge attendance for the Olympic final really boosted the game in England. Since then, the league has expanded, more overseas players have come over to compete in it. There is more TV and other coverage, and I really think every effort will be made to make it a success.
I think it will come down to FIFA’s goal for the tournament, whether they play safe or not.

New Zealand is the only one to never host a World Cup so they’d be interesting. But now I think England has the best shot, of the men’s hosts they’re the only one who hasn’t hosted a World Cup in the last 20 years, and I’m sure putting 80,000 in Wembley for the USA-Japan Olympic final will only help. Certainly an interesting bid process though as all 5 seem capable of generating high attendance. South Africa would have to work harder probably, but maybe that would be a boost to the region if they pulled it off as others have said. I think FIFA will go the safe route for now though, plus Europe hasn’t hosted that many Women’s World Cups.
