Once again there are no changes at the very top, although Germany have cut the USA’s lead to a mere six points. World champions Japan are also looking over their shoulders in third place as France are now just 14 points behind them. It is therefore possible that the next edition of the ranking in December 2014 will reveal some movement in the top three. Meanwhile, England (7th, up 1) have swapped places with Canada (8th, down 1) and are also hot on the heels of Brazil (6th, unchanged) with just eight points separating the two sides. Denmark (12th, up 3) have also arrested their recent slide by climbing three places. Further down the ranking, four teams are currently in their highest-ever position since the introduction of the ranking, namely Switzerland (18th, up 1), Wales (32nd, up 5), Chile (38th, up 4) and Paraguay (54th, newly ranked).
