The season in the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga, which was interrupted due to the Corona Crisis, could continue on May 29, subject to the relevant official regulations. This was decided by the Presidium of the German Football Association (DFB) in its meeting today and agreed to the adjustment of the General Schedule of women 2019/2020. The Presidium thus followed the recommendation of the DFB Committee for Women’s and Girls Football and the DFB Committee for Women’s National League. Previously, the clubs of the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga had voted with a large majority for the resumption of the 2019/2020 season. Also the DFB Women’s Cup could, provided the relevant official dispositions exist, continue with the Quarter Finals on Wednesday 3rd June 2020.

The DFB is in intensive exchange with politicians and today, during an extraordinary board meeting, has again spoken out in favor of continuing play in the 3rd Division, the FLYERALARM women’s Bundesliga and the DFB Cup.

The continuation of the game operations should then be carried out on the basis of the concept “Task Force Sports Medicine/ Special Game Operations. The guidelines developed by the DFB and DFL include strict hygiene requirements, close testing and continuous monitoring. The concept for the FLYERALARM women’s Bundesliga and the DFB Cup competition basically corresponds to the content for the two leagues of the DFL. The only differences are in organisational nuances, for example in the number of people for the defined zones inside and outside the predominantly smaller stadiums.

The league would continue on Friday 29th May 2020 with the  17th game day, the season finale is scheduled for Sunday 28th June 2020. There are still six match days to complete, plus two catch-up games. In the DFB Cup competition for women, the Quarter Finals would be played on Wednesday 3rd June 2020. The semi-finals could take place on Wednesday 10th June and Thursday 11th 2020, the final in Cologne on Saturday the 4th July 2020.
