Following on from the recent news of a new women’s soccer in league in USA, the US Soccer president Sunil Gulati has announced the appointment of Cheryl Bailey as Executive Director for the new league.
Experienced Bailey served as General Manager of the USWNT for five years from 2007 through 2011, in charge of all levels of the national team’s administration including travel, payroll, liaising with clubs and working with Federations.
Suri Gulati commented on the US Soccer website:
“Cheryl was a highly regarded employee for U.S. Soccer during her time with the Women’s National Team and she has the perfect skill set and experience to help get this league up and running, Cheryl was one of the many pioneers for intercollegiate women’s athletics and was immersed in the inner works of elite women’s soccer for five years. We’re excited to have her on board.”
