France win bronze at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup 2014

After a slow start to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 3rd place playoff match, France beat Korea DPR 3-2 in what was a thrilling second half.

The opening 45 minutes had little opportunities from both sides although there were some impressive action with Claire Lavogez showcasing her impressive skills to provide inspiration for the French.

It was Korea DPR who broke the deadlock in the 47th minute as Ri Un-Yong headed home from a Choe Sol-Gyong free-kick. The lead would only last 6 minutes though before Lavogez scored the equaliser for France.

Aminata Diallo put France in the lead in the 66th minute with an absolutely spectacular goal:

Korea DPR responded almost immediately as Choe Un-Hwa brought the game back level on 2-2 in the 68th minute.

Tounkara sealed the victory for the French as she lobbed Korea DPR keeper Kim Chol-Ok to go 3-2 ahead with 11 minutes remaining.
