France will play Norway on the 26th January 2016

France kick off 2016 with an international friendly against Norway on 26 January in La Manga.

The match will take place on Tuesday 26 January in La Manga, kick-off at 21:00 CET, live on D17 (France).

The meeting is part of the team’s objective to compete against top nations in the world as part of preparations for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Norway are 10th in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings (released on 18 December 2015), France are 3rd.

The last time these two teams met, France won 1-0 (29 June 2013).

France has already qualified for Rio 2016 whilst Norway must compete against the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland for the final UEFA berth in a mini qualifying tournament hosted by the Netherlands this March. In addition to preparations for this summer’s Olympic Games, both Norway and France are involved in UEFA EURO 2017 qualifiers.
