Furness joins Spurs on loan
Northern Ireland women’s international Rachel Furness has joined Tottenham Hotspur on loan from Reading ahead of this weekends WSL kickoff.
Furness who has previously played for Newcastle United , Icelandic side Grindavik and has had two spells with Sunderland joins Spurs until the end of the season.
She played in both Euro 2021 qualifying games for Northern Ireland last week as they lost 6-0 to Norway before drawing 2-2 in Wales on Tuesday night.
The talented midfielder has spent the last two seasons with Reading and made 24 appearances in all competitions for the Royals last season.
She told the Spurs website I’m very excited to join the Club and looking forward to the challenge ahead. I hope that I can make a positive impact on and off the pitch and help the team establish themselves in the WSL.”
